This car has been shown at numerous aaca events and has been completely restored from the frame up. While the car retains it stock 6-volt configuration, the ac operates on a separate dedicated 12v battery and alternator. The ultra-matic transmission was rebuilt by an expert in 2015. The engine was rebuilt in 2012. It has a new carburetor to factory specs by daytona carburetor in 2016. This is one of only 863 packard convertibles built in 1954, and few survive. Production number 5478-2288. 1954 packard caribbean convertible the caribbean was packard's high-style convertible in their expensive luxury line. The caribbean first appeared in 1953, with a total of 750 vehicles produced. The mitchell-bentley convertible company of ionia, michigan, was contracted by packard to modify its standard packard convertibles, for 1953 and 1954. The 1954 packard caribbean was even more luxurious than the original 1953 version. There were only 400 of these vehicles built in 1954. Standard features on this vehicle included power steering, power brakes, power windows, power seat, dual heaters and defrosters, full rich leather interior, three-way radio with a power antenna, continental spare tire and five classic kelsey-hayes chrome wire wheels. This vehicle has less than 5,000 miles on it since having underwent a total body-off (rotisserie) restoration in the late 1990's, with new chrome, springs and re-built suspension. It is in great condition, both visually and mechanically. It is very reliable and inexpensive to maintain. Most parts are easily available. Electronic 6 volt ignition and high torque starter stainless steel bumper and body bolts synthetic fluids all around, with silicon (dot5) brake fluid leather interior with new seat springs (in excellent condition with no signs of splitting or cracking) painted in original two tone packard ivory and colorado red. Just repacked water pump, changed the oil, installed new points and condenser, new muffler, new 6 volt Carter fuel pump, fuel filter, 50/50 % antifreeze and had the carburetor rebuilt in 2012 by the Carb Doc. Powered by a 384.8 cubic inch straight 8 engine rated at 109 horse power, 3 speed gearbox, 4 wheel mechanical brakes and rides on a 136" wheelbase. A complete restoration was done back in the mid-70's, but is showing it's age/patina so too speak

So, here is my transparent disclosure about the rest of the car: the convertible top operates as it should but the pump leaks when activated to go up or down; it likely needs to have the seals replaced or rebuilt. However, as any vehicle of its age, it needs to be sorted in order to be taken to the next level. Only the fuel and temperature gauges are currently operational, so the under dash wiring needs to be sorted or gauges rebuilt
