Seller's Comments and Description: Very original, low mileage, unmolested 1973 Norton Commando MkV. I purchased from the son of the original owner. It had sat in the son's garage the prior 15 - years without use. Most of the paint is original, including gas tank, side covers, fork clamps, and frame. I repainted the rear tailight, front airbox, and front fender stays - all other paint is original. The tank is metal, dent free, not chip free, and spotless inside - just sealed. The chrome parts are original, look very good, but some parts have various amounts of pitting. The fenders are excellent and dent free. Details ConditionYear: Used 1973 Contact Seller. Of 348cc, the new engine employed a single overhead camshaft driven by vertical shaft, and was unusual in having a very narrow crankcase, an arrangement determined by the existing transmission and frame design, which made for a stiff crankshaft assembly. Seller's Comments and Description: This bike is in very good cosmetic and mechanical condition, with minimal use since restoration. There's some "shelf" wear here and there . The bike could use a professional detailing, but is still very clean, showing 40 miles since restoration in the mid-80s by the former Norton dealer, who I purchased the bike from five years ago. The bike was just serviced this week: oil change, valve adjustment, and new Exide 12v 8ah battery. For a featherbed Norton twin with a stamped steel primary chain case, it's relatively oil tight (only a few drops after running). Starts first or second kick from cold . Horn, head and tail lights, gauge lights, and kill switch all work. Brake light does not work (probably the bulb). Some fine dry rotting on the tires from age, but both hold air well. The large gap between the top of the rear wheel and the rear fender in the photos is just a result of the rear suspension being at full extension with the bike on its center stand. Off the stand and with a rider on board, it has a tight, road-hugging stance. Details ConditionYear: Used 1966 Contact Seller. Chain Transmission✔ Air Cooling System✔ Tail light
